Lusaka, Zambia — The Corridor Economy Forum has officially launched an online Fireside Chats series focused on The Corridor Economy of Zambia, marking a strategic build-up towards the inaugural Corridor Economy Forum, scheduled to take place in Lusaka in May 2026.
The Fireside Chats series is designed as a high-level, knowledge-driven engagement platform that brings together economists, policymakers, private sector leaders, infrastructure experts, logistics players, investors and development partners to unpack Zambia’s evolving corridor economy and its role in regional and continental trade.
Creating a Platform for Dialogue and Insight
Zambia’s strategic geographic position at the heart of Southern and Central Africa places it at the centre of critical trade, transport and logistics corridors linking ports, production hubs and consumer markets across the region. The Fireside Chats series aims to deepen understanding of these corridors, examining their impact on trade facilitation, industrialisation, investment flows and regional integration.
Through moderated, conversation-style engagements, the series will explore themes including:
- Trade and transport corridors and regional connectivity
- Infrastructure development and logistics efficiency
- Industrialisation, value chains and special economic zones
- Cross-border trade, policy alignment and regulatory reform
- Investment opportunities linked to corridor development
Building Momentum Towards May 2026
The Fireside Chats form part of a broader engagement strategy to build momentum, visibility and stakeholder alignment ahead of the inaugural Corridor Economy Forum in Lusaka. Each session is structured to generate insights, spotlight opportunities and foster dialogue that will inform the Forum’s agenda and outcomes.
By hosting these discussions online, the initiative enables broad participation across borders, ensuring that regional and international perspectives contribute to shaping the conversation around Zambia’s corridor economy.
From Conversation to Action
Beyond thought leadership, the Fireside Chats are intended to support practical outcomes by connecting stakeholders, identifying collaboration opportunities and highlighting policy and investment priorities that can be advanced at the Forum in 2026.
The inaugural Corridor Economy Forum will provide a physical platform to translate these conversations into action, bringing together decision-makers and partners to advance trade facilitation, infrastructure investment and economic development linked to corridor-based growth.
Looking Ahead
As Zambia continues to position itself as a regional logistics and trade hub, the Corridor Economy Fireside Chats series will play a critical role in shaping informed dialogue and building a shared vision among stakeholders.
Participants, partners and interested stakeholders are encouraged to engage with the series and contribute to the discussions as preparations intensify towards May 2026 in Lusaka.
The journey to the inaugural Corridor Economy Forum has begun — and the conversation is underway.
